KO Series #02-SHR: $750K Gtd 8-Max

Team partypoker’s Anatoly “NL_Profit” Filatov (lead photo) reached the eight-handed final table of the $5,200 buy-in KO Series #02-SHR: $750K Gtd 8-Max event but couldn’t quite get the job done. The popular Russian, who has been in exceptional form for a few months now, had to make do with a sixth-place finish in this tournament, which turned his initial investment into $31,256.

Shout-out to eighth-place finisher “OmarBingo” who was busy racking up bounties on their way to the final table. Their eighth-place finish was worth $12,351, but it was boosted by an incredible $29,493 worth of bounty payments. Only third-placed “PayAndPlay” and the eventual champion won more from the bounty prize pool.

Speaking of PayAndPlay, they collected a combined $84,505 for their third-place exit, which set up an enticing heads-up encounter between Swedish Goliath Johannes “Greenstone25” Korsar and “Jackychannnn.”

Korsar has more than $13 million in online poker tournament cashes, thanks in part to banking $72,932 for his second-place finish in this event. Jackychannnn walked away the victor and with an additional $162,384 in their partypoker account.

Team Online’s Jaime “jaimestaples” Staples will remember the KO Series #03-HR: $750K Gtd 8-Max fondly thanks to it awarding his largest-ever online score.

Staples was among the 339 entrants in the $2,100 buy-in event that fell around $55,000 shy of its $750,000 guarantee. Half the prize pool went to the heads of the entrants, with the remaining fifty percent being shared by the top 48 finishers.

With bounties included, all eight of the players at the final table walked away with a five-figure prize. “Doggidog” was the final table’s first casualty, and they walked away with $10,377.

The bounties in this event were huge at the final table with “PhatToad” locking up $15,782 of them to add to their $10,988 main prize pool prize. “NowNowNow” followed them to the rail before Staples busted out in fifth-place, his kings cracked by the eventual champion’s ace-eight courtesy of a straight on the river. Staples consoled himself with $35,276.

“DonDaLong74” crashed out ($55,022) before “Bijzettafel” joined them on the sidelines ($60,112). This left “Nicky_Larson90” and “WorshipMe_7” to play one-on-one for the title. The latter emerged victoriously and won $129,525 with the runner-up adding $70,808 to their bankroll.
