Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford reached the final table of the PokerStars Sunday Million in Aug. 2012 and had to make do with a fifth-place finish worth $65,800. Now Beresford can brag of being a Sunday Million champion after the young Netherlands-based British star outlasted 10,930 opponents to get his hands on the $112,185 top prize.

It was a mixed summer for Beresford in terms of live poker. While his quest for a WSOP bracelet didn’t go to plan, he managed a sixth-place finish in the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Vegas event for $170,000.

With this victory, Beresford pushed his online poker tournament winnings to almost $8.4 million, with $5.47 million of that impressive total stemming from his play at PokerStars. Beresford secured the $112,185 top prize in this tournament by defeating “manumanu1985” of Ukraine heads-up, resigning the runner-up to an $81,408 consolation prize.

All but one of the nine players at the final table walked away with a five-figure prize. “Exculibrus” of Poland banked $8,629 before Geraldo “GeraldoCesar” Cesar Neto won $11,891 for his eighth-place finish.

$16,385 and seventh place went to “MinReraise” of Russia who was joined on the sidelines by “jakubc1”, “svquit” and “BIGHOOPS00” who took home prize worth $22,578, $31,113 and $42,873.

The penultimate exit was that of “spanishdj1” of Romania who collected $59,078 for their third-place bust out.

While on his way to winning the Sunday Million, Beresford also found himself on the final table of the $2,100 Sunday High Roller. Unfortunately for Beresford, he ran out of steam in sixth place and had to make do with a $9,730 haul.

Beresford outlasted Vladimir “vovtroy” Troyanovskiy and Kristen “krissyb24” Bicknell at the final table; that duo scooped $5,623 and $7,396 respectively. Russian superstar “hello_totti” collected $12,799 for their fifth-place exit before Swedish legend Niklas “Lena900” Astedt crashed out in fourth place for a $16,837 addition to his bankroll.

Third place and $22,149 went to “AAmichiAA” of Germany, which set up a heads-up clash between Preben “prebz” Stokkan and Simon “C.Darwin2” Mattsson. Either player would have been a worthy champion, but it was Mattsson who emerged from the battle victoriously, securing the $38,327 top prize, leaving Stokkan to bank $29,136.
