In this episode of The Bernard Lee Poker Show on the PokerNews Podcast Network, Bernard Lee interviews the four-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, who won the $50,000 Poker Players Championship an unprecedented three times, Michael Mizrachi.

Michael, nicknamed “The Grinder,” discusses his latest Poker Players Championship victory in last summer’s WSOP. Additionally, Michael discusses his unusual winning streaks that often occur in even years, but still wanting to have a great 2019.

8:56Michael explains that the $50,000 Poker Players Championship “is a really tough field, very challenging…You can’t make any mistakes.”
10:13Michael recalled that he almost didn’t play any bracelet events this summer at the WSOP. “I can’t believe it. I didn’t think I was going to play actually any events at the World Series (of Poker).”
10:36Michael describes how the tournament went overall. “Day 1 was okay, then after Day 2, I was chip leader every day, so that’s pretty hard to do as well. It was just my tournament. I feel like no one could have stopped me. I was running well.”
11:26Michael accidentally spilled coffee on the table, delaying the tournament which ended up changing his mojo. “It caused a seven-minute delay…and after the coffee spill, I became the chip leader at the end of the day.”
13:05Michael doesn’t play as many tournaments currently, preferring to spend time with his family. “I actually haven’t played that many tournaments. I been playing mostly cash. I’ve always been a cash game player since I was 15 years old…It’s hard to play as much as I’d like to, but my preference is I’d rather be with them (his family) than playing poker and travelling the world.”
14:00This past summer, Michael played around 23 events, but he came into the WSOP a little late. “I wasn’t sure if I was going to play any events or not…But when you go on a little heater, then let’s go for it all once I won the $50k.”
