The Los Angeles Poker Open (LAPO)

The LA Poker Open (LAPO) is in full force taking place at The Commerce Casino, located just outside of Los Angeles in Southern California, from Nov. 2-18.

The festival features 18 events with buy-ins ranging from $120 to $1,100 and is hosted by well-known tournament directors Matt Savage and Justin Hammer.

$500K Guaranteed Main Event

The highlight of the poker festival is the LAPO $1,100 No Limit Hold'em Main Event that runs Nov. 15-18. While other tournaments on the schedule feature guarantees as high as $200,000, the Main Event, which also doubles as Event #16 on the schedule, boasts a larger $500,000 guaranteed prize pool.

The tournament is a deep-stacked affair with players beginning with 30,000 in chips and 40-minute blind levels on each of the three opening flights on Nov. 15-17 at 12 p.m. PST. Late registration for each of the opening flights concludes at the start of Level 7 and the event features a big blind ante structure.

Players can reenter once and they can also reenter even if they bag chips as the tournament allows players to bring their biggest stack forward on Day 2. Those that bag more than one stack will be awarded a min-cash for the stack that was forfeited.

Surviving players from each of the three opening flights will compete until a winner is crowned on Day 2 on Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. PST. The action gets deeper once the final table is reached with blind levels increasing to 60 minutes.

The Commerce Casino is hosting at least one $175 satellite per day with anywhere from three to ten seats guaranteed.

Freeroll Guarantees Ten $1,100 LAPC Seats

On the final day of the festival on Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. PST, the LAPO will be hosting the LAPO No Limit Hold'em Send Off Freeroll, which guarantees an LAPC seat valued at $1,100 to each of the top ten finishers.

The freeroll is open to any player that participated in at least one LAPO event.

Players begin the tournament with 2,500 in chips with blinds increasing every 15 minutes throughout the event. The turbo structure won't be hampered by individual antes since, like the Main Event, it features a single big blind ante to move the action a little quicker.

Rebuys for 2,500 in chips and add-ons for 5,000 in chips are available for $20. The money generated from the rebuys and add-ons will be used to create a side cash prize pool in addition to the seats.

Late registration for the event ends at the beginning of Level 9, allowing many of the players that were eliminated on Day 2 of the Main Event enough time to hop into the freeroll.
