The River Poker Series Returns to WinStar World Casino on Aug. 22
The 2018 River Poker Series is about to bring thousands of poker players to the WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackersville, Oklahoma from Aug. 22 to Sept. 3.
The festival features 11 action-packed tournaments and plenty of satellites. The highlight of the festival is the $2,500 River Poker Series Main Event, featuring a massive $2 million prize pool.
The Main Event is a deep-stacked affair with players starting off with 25,000 in chips and blinds increasing every 40 minutes during both of the opening flights on Sept. 1-2.
Surviving players will compete for two more days on Sept. 3-4 with an even deeper structure of 60-minute blind levels until a winner is crowned.
As has been the case the past few years, the PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand to report the biggest hands and bad beats of the Main Event from start to finish.
In addition to the Main Event, the festival features 10 side events with buy-ins ranging from $230 to $1,100. This is an increase of three events compared to last year's schedule.
Also, the schedule features plenty of $550 Mega tournaments that award lammers valued at $2,500 for the Main Event. As an additional perk, the casino is also adding an additional eight lammers to each tournament, for an extra $20,000 in value.
All players are welcome to the festival provided they are at least 18 years of age and provide a valid ID. The low age limit provides a great opportunity for younger players since most casinos in the United States only allow players that are at least 21 years old.
