Global Poker Rattlesnake Open Slithers Past Week One Guarantees
The Rattlesnake Open at Global Poker is not even a week in and already smashing expectations. Some of the first week’s events so far have even more than doubled their posted guarantees.
Things sparked up last Sunday when no less than 3,132 players logged on to their Global Poker accounts and participated in the SC$5,000 guaranteed Opening Freeroll for no financial investment at all. After three short hours, “floptkwods” from St. Louis, Missouri emerged victorious to wrangle the first Rattlesnake Open trophy of the series.
In the final hand of that one, the winner had to win a flip with A♥10♠ against heads-up opponent “chadman7il” who held pocket eights. The board ran out 7♣Q♠A♠A♦Q♦, giving “floptkwods” aces full of queens to ship the trophy.
Rattlesnake Open Week One Events
Following the freeroll, the first four days’ events all exceeded their guarantees, some by quite a large margin. Monday’s High buy-in SC$110 6-Max, which had a SC$10,000 guarantee, reached a massive $22,700 prize pool. Chi Town’s “CVo” took down that event to earn the lion’s share of the prize pool to go with a spiffy Rattlesnake trophy and Global Poker Champions pack delivered to their door in the Windy City.
Plenty more Rattlesnake Open action awaits this weekend and through the big final Sunday on May 20. In addition to Low, Medium and High events Friday and Saturday, Sunday will see the biggest guarantees of the week. The SC$218 buy-in on May 6 offers up a $50,000 guarantee with satellites running for as little as SC$0.55.
Rattlesnake action kicks off at 3:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, so don’t miss the biggest guarantees of the week at Global Poker, along with a chance to become a Rattlesnake Open Champion. See this PokerNews article for the full remaining schedule of events.
