partypoker Adds Almost $2 Million in Guarantees to Sunday’s Schedule
partypoker has acted fast and apologised to its players who suffered connection problems on Mar. 4, the final day of the $10 million guaranteed KO Series.
The final day of the KO Series was marred by a malfunction in one of partypoker’s servers at approximately 8:00 p.m. GMT on Mar. 4. Several KO Series events were in play at the time, including two tournaments with $1 million guaranteed prize pools. After the in-play tournaments were paused, the server problem could not be rectified and the partypoker management team decided to best course of action was to cancel all the tournaments that were running, plus any scheduled for 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
partypoker Boosted Guarantees
As part of the apology, partypoker is to host a $5,200 buy-in progressive knockout tournament at 7:00 p.m. GMT on Mar. 11 that has a $1 million guaranteed prize pool; this is one of the KO Series tournaments that had to be canceled.
The online poker site is also boosting the guarantee of the $215 buy-in Super Sunday Bounty Hunter from $200,000 to $1 million, adding $100,000 to the guarantee of the $55 Super Sunday Big Bounty Hunter, $30,000 to the guarantee of the $11 Super Sunday Big Bounty Hunter and $15,000 to the guarantee of the $2.20 Super Sunday Big Bounty Hunter.
Two Ladies Bounty Hunter tournaments will also see their guarantees grow: The $109 buy-in event will now have $10,000 guaranteed instead of $5,000, while the $22 buy-in will feature a $5,000 guarantee, up from $2,000.
As the tournaments with the boosted guarantees take place this Sunday, it is highly likely that they will all feature an overlay because there simply is not enough time for enough satellite players to win their seats. This means the tournaments should be good value for anyone who plays in them.
New Power Series and Leaderboards Launched
Mar. 5 saw partypoker launch its new Power Series schedule. Weekly combined guaranteed have increased 2.5 times from $4 million to $10 million and each day of the week has a different theme to it. They are:
- Knockout Monday
- Big Tuesday
- 6-Max Wednesday
- Big Thursday
- Fight Night Friday
- Smooth Saturday
- Super Sunday
Coinciding with the revamped Power Series schedule is the MILLIONS Online Leaderboards where $3 million worth of MILLIONS Online seats and satellite tickets will be won during the current year. The MILLIONS Online is a $20 million guaranteed online event held at partypoker between Nov. 25 and Dec. 5, 2018.
