The biggest weekly tournament, in terms of prize money awarded, at partypoker is the Title Fight. The $215 buy-in event usually guarantees $250,000 in prize money, but starting Oct. 1 that is all set to change — and for the better.

An announcement on the partypoker blog revealed that the $215 Title Fight will have its guarantee boosted 100 percent to an impressive $500,000. It is a brave move from partypoker management, especially when you consider that some of the $500,000 guaranteed Powerfest events have failed to hit their guarantee.

The first-place prize is expected to be around $80,000, and partypoker is making sure that players of all levels and bankrolls will have a chance to participate. Satellites to the Title Fight will run every day during the week. In total, at least 150 seats are guaranteed to be won via satellites every week with these satellites starting at only $1.10.

Should the players turn out in force and the $500,000 guarantee is met on a regular basis, this may not be the last increase the Title Fight receives — at least that is what partypoker sponsored pro Dzmitry Urbanovich has hinted at.

Urbanovich said to the partypoker blog: “After the huge guarantees during Powerfest, increasing the guarantee of the weekly Title Fight to $500,000 is fantastic news and I’m looking forward to its return next Sunday! It is further proof that partypoker care about us, the players and are committed to paying out huge prize pools. It will be great competing for even more prize money every week and I’m sure the guarantee will only keep increasing, with $1 million surely not far away!”
