partypoker has launched what it is calling partypoker Ladies, a community created by female poker players for female poker players, which include ladies-only tournaments, female orientated social media channels and more.

One of the statistics that stuck out when the World Series of Poker released the demographic breakdown of the 2017 WSOP Main Event entrants was the fact that only 3.7 percent of the 7,221-strong field was female. Quite alarmingly, only one woman in the 21-25 years-old bracket competed in the $10,000 buy-in tournament.

Poker is a game that has a predominately male player pool that some women have difficulty being accepted in for various reasons. Some prominent female poker players have spoken out in the past about how some of their male counterparts have mocked them at the tables, criticized their play, and even subjected them to sexual remarks while leaving their fellow males in peace. It's no wonder that the number of female poker players is low.

partypoker has taken steps to address the imbalance by giving female poker players their own community where they can socialize and play poker with like-minded women from around the globe, a safe haven of sorts.

Following on from the successful Ladies event at the partypoker MILLIONS at Dusk Till Dawn in April 2017, there was a ladies event at the recent partypoker LIVE Grand Prix Killarney festival which was enthusiastically received. partypoker has promised there will be many more tournaments with female poker players in mind in the near future.

One such tournament takes place during the $35 million guaranteed Powerfest online series that is in full swing. At 8:00 p.m. BST on Sep. 24, there is a $109 buy-in Powerfest Ladies event with a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool. This is the first time partypoker has dedicated a Powerfest event to female poker players and it looks set to be successful.

A trio of partypoker’s female Team partypoker members are set to play in the ladies event and do so with a bounty on their heads. Whoever eliminates Beata Jambrik, Natalia Breviglieri, or Kristen Bicknell from the Powerfest Ladies event will receive their $109 buy-in back.

On the social side of things, partypoker has created a partypoker Ladies Instagram account and a Brazilian partypoker Ladies Instagram account. There is also a partypoker Ladies group on Facebook which already has 611 members and is growing on a daily basis.

If you don't already have an account, you can download partypoker via PokerNews and enter the bonus code “PNCOM” when making your first deposit and partypoker will match your initial deposit 100 percent up to $500.
