WPT, Playground Poker, partypoker Host New Main Tour Stop
Playground Poker Club, partypoker and the World Poker Tour are teaming up again to host a new WPT Main Tour stop—the headline event in an expanded Playground Winter Festival.
The $3,200 + $300 partypoker.net WPT Playground — with a $1,000,000 Guarantee — is a new event that has been added to Season XV. This will be the third Main Tour stop of the season at Playground Poker Club, giving players an additional opportunity to secure coveted POY points or—for one player—to qualify for the WPT Tournament of Champions!
The Winter Festival will kick off with the $100,000 Guaranteed Wild $150 and the $200,000 Guaranteed $250 Frenzy events. Both have become traditional opening events in Playground Festivals and the combination of the huge prize pools and the low buy-in has made these must-play tournaments.
In addition, the Winter Festival sees the return of the massive $500 + $100 + $500 50/50 Bounty tournament, a $500 + $50 PLO event and the $1,500 + $150 Second Chance NL Hold’em event - $150,000 Guaranteed! This year’s Winter Festival also introduces a massive $500 + $50 6-Max event – Short-Handed Hold’em for a huge prize pool!
The Winter Festival gets underway on Jan. 29, with the WPT Playground scheduled to begin on Feb. 10. The WPT Playground will have two Day 1 starting flights (one entry and one re-entry per Day 1) and play out over five days, concluding on Feb. 15. With WPT Main Tour stops in Atlantic City and Niagara Falls before and after the WPT Playground, this is a new eastern swing for players to enjoy.
