Sunday Briefing: Huge Tournament Scores Won Jan. 29

There were some massive tournament prizes won by players from all around the world Jan. 29 thanks to the PokerStars Turbo Championship Of Online Poker and the 888poker Super XL Series drawing to a close. Plus, the partypoker Powerfest ran some of its big guaranteed events.

The biggest cash of the day weighed in at almost half a million dollars and went the way of Maxwell “maxv2” Ludwig who topped a field of 3,583 in the $1,000 TCOOP Main Event. The player from Costa Rica walked away with $489,076 for the victory, resigning Finland’s “Timonpoika” to the $351,648 runner-up prize.

Another huge result went the way of Vicente “vicenfish” Delgado who won the $3,000 TCOOP High Roller for $287,060. The UK-based Spaniard only has one cash larger than this impressive amount; Delgado won the 2014 WCOOP High Roller for $702,625.

  • “SV(nmgn)EN” – winner of the Big $109 for $28,662
  • “bootopia” – winner of the Hot $162 for $15,524
  • “KKremate” – winner of the $700 Super-Sized Sunday for $44,407
  • “MasterK 1986” – winner of the $109 Bounty Builder for $17,133

Partypoker was another online poker site with huge guarantees this weekend. British pro Paul “Sentapied99” Senter won a $300,000 Gtd NL Hold’em event for $50,341 after a three-way chop and then went on to finish sixth in the $300,000 Gtd High Roller NL Hold’em for an additional $12,525; Oscar “OMGMenda” Serradell won that particular tournament and turned $530 into $55,142.

Earlier on Jan. 29, “WWWpartyCOM” won the $200,000 Gtd High Roller NL Hold’em for $47,025, with Jon “sordykrd” Van Fleet winning the $200,000 Gtd Super High Roller for a cool $71,875.

Shoutouts also have to go to “TodayHave” who won the $200,000 Gtd for $26,500.62, to Simon “HellmuthTheGr8” Mattsson who won the $100,000 Gtd Rebuy for $19,350 and to “majkl1812” who took down the $100,000 Gtd Freezeout for $19,727.
