Sunday Briefing: A Massive Weekend of Online Poker

Jan. 22 was a huge day on the online poker calendar thanks to the Turbo Championship Of Online Poker (TCOOP), Powerfest and Super XL tournaments complementing the usual array of big events held at PokerStars, partypoker and 888poker.

Starting with PokerStars, the $215 Sunday Million ended in a four-way chop. Estonia’s “Tarmooo” was crowned champion and bagged $91,853.23. Australia’s TJ “1BigAceHole” Ulmer who won the most money despite finishing third. The Aussie walked away with $113,330 courtesy of the four-way deal.

Another big winner was Sergei “srxakgirona” Reixach who topped a field of 323 to win the $1,050 Sunday Grand NLHE with Brian “brianm15” England winning the pot-limit Omaha edition of the Sunday Grand, a result worth $36,699.80.

  • “zzlazio904” – winner of the $215 Bounty Builder for $17,588.13
  • “Djuk8” – winner of the $215 Sunday Warm-Up for $54,372.90
  • “GeraldoCesar” – winner of the $215 NL Hold’em Bubble Rush TCOOP for $51,880.33
  • “B4NKR0LL3R” – winner of the $215 Weekender for $13,301.35
  • “Respect_Lt” – winner of the Big $109 for $23,273.66
  • Viktor “Isildur1” Blom – winner of the Hot $162 for $16,500.74
  • Craig “1974cww” Wilson – winner of the $700 Super-Sized Sunday for $42,018.55
  • “ludd£90” – winner of the $215 NL Hold’em Progressive KO TCOOP for $25,382.17
  • “ositomalvado” – winner of the $109 Bounty Builder for $16,112.40

  • “jeanfranco07” – winner of the $215 NL Hold’em Hyper Turbo TCOOP for $64,269.31
  • “neverfoldQ5” – winner of the Hot $215 for $18,427.62
  • Brendon “brendon1717” Rubie – winner of the $109 Sunday Wrap-Up for $8,742.19

Thanks to the $11 million Powerfest starting at partypoker, there were big scores in several tournaments. One such result went the way of “Lefiscal” who won the $300,000 Gtd for $54,356.18. “Gl4diat0r” won the $530 High Roller, another $300,000 guaranteed tournament, adding $55,485.30 to his lifetime winnings.

In the $200,000 Gtd event, “PieterPost” came out on top and won $27,500 with “ca3sar9” and “BeMySpon2oR” collecting $25,528 and $20,000 after being part of a three-way chop.

Mentions also have to go to “T4I4OTONl” who won a $530 buy in $200,000 guaranteed High Roller for $41,325.03, to “idgafrly” who won a $100,000 guaranteed event for $19,474.83 and to Pablo “gordiju” Gordillo who won the $2,600 Super High Roller for $37,476.14.

Over to 888poker now where the Super XL Series is in full swing. “wes.c.addle” won the $200,000 Super XL Whale for $42,502.01 with the UK’s “ADRI_ATM” winning the $150,000 Super XL Mega Deep for $34,524.

The $250,000 Super XL Tune Up smashed its guarantee by $66,200 and “ForSjovt” took full advantage by turning $160 into an impressive $53,754.
