Dusk Till Dawn Casino should be packed to the rafters today due to the 2016 partypoker World Poker Tour UK Main Event getting underway with the first of its two starting flights.

£2,200 is the buy-in for this £1 million guaranteed tournament, with that princely sum buying entrants a 30,000 chip starting stack. Should they dust off their generous helping of chips, players can re-enter for an additional £2,200.

Day 1a action begins at 2:00 p.m. on Nov. 2 with Day 1b commencing at the same time on Nov. 3. Like most WPT Main Events these days, late registration is available until the end of the first level on Day 2 or 3:00 p.m. on Nov. 4.

When the WPT UK Main Event last took place at Dusk Till Dawn in November 2015, Iaron Lightbourne came out on top after a long final table battle where the likes of William Chattaway,Chi Zhang, Fraser Bellamy and the eventual runner-up Craig McCorkell were vying for the £200,000 first-place prize.

Devilfish Cup Reaches Its Final Day

While the WPT UK Main Event kicks off, the £1 million guaranteed Devilfish Cup plays down to its champion. By the time late registration closed, a total of 204 entries were processed, meaning the guarantee was surpassed by £20,000.

Twenty-five players return to the fray at 2:00 p.m. Nov. 2, but only 20 of those will see a return on their £5,300 investment. A min-cash in this special event awards £9,700; reaching the final table of nine increases that payout to an impressive £30,000. The Devilfish Cup champion will walk away with £250,000 and a special edition guitar signed by rock legend Brian May.

Ireland’s Peter Roche is in pole position going into the third and final day’s play after bagging up 930,000 chips, although Steven Warburton is right on his coattails with a 911,000 stack.

Also still in the hunt for glory are the likes of Ian Simpson (773,000), Barny Boatman (426,000), tennis legend Boris Becker (391,000), Sam Trickett (245,000), partypoker ambassador Roberto Romanello (174,000) and Simon Deadman (167,000).
