Three New Jersey Online Tournament Festivals Kick Off in October

October is a huge month at New Jersey regulated online poker rooms.

The fifth edition of the Garden State Super Series (GSSS) on partypoker NJ and BorgataPoker.com and the Fall Poker Festival at WSOP.com NJ continue this week and the first-ever New Jersey Championship of Online Poker (NJCOOP) is set to kick off at PokerStars NJ this weekend!

Win a Share of $1.1 Million in the Garden State Super Series V

The GSSS V started this past weekend with the first set of tournaments. The series takes place at partypoker NJ and BorgataPoker.com from Oct. 9-23 with 75 action-packed tournaments and will award at least $1.1 million in prizes guaranteed.

Thus far, "Imperator3" is the biggest winner in the poker festival by navigating his way through a field of 324 entrants to win the $215 GSSS #2 - $75,000 GTD NLH for $14,033 on Oct. 9. Three well-known New Jersey online tournament grinders also scored big on the final table in this tournament including Eric "alwaysliquid" Vanauken (third - $6,900),Jacob "jakep474" Perry (fourth - $5,700) and Yong "OWNEDLOLUMAD" Kwon (sixth - $4,125).

Many of the biggest tournaments in this series have yet to come. The highlight of the online tournament series is the $320 GSSS #69 - $175,000 GTD Main Event NLH on Oct. 23. On that same day is the $1,060 GSSS #70 - $75,000 GTD NLH High Roller.

Two huge tournaments next Sunday, Oct. 16, include the $215 GSSS #36 - $100,000 GTD NLH and the $535 GSSS #37 - $50,000 GTD NLH High Roller Six-Max.

The series has something for everyone with buy-ins ranging from $10 to $1,060 along with a plethora of satellites to qualify into each tournament for pennies on the dollar. Additionally, there are games in no-limit hold'em, pot-limit Omaha, pot-limit Omaha hi-low and seven-card stud across a variety of different tournament formats.

$65,000 in Prizes on the Line in the Fall Poker Festival

The Fall Poker Festival is back for its third edition on WSOP.com NJ from Oct. 9 through Oct. 16 with each of the days featuring a huge tournament. In total, the eight tournaments will guarantee at least $65,000 in prizes with the $200 buy in $35,000 GTD R&A Fall Poker Festival Main Event - Ring Event highlighted as the centerpiece of the festival. The winner of the Main Event will also walk away with a coveted WSOP.com Champion’s Ring.

Justin "byeoz" Chmielarz is the biggest winner so far in the tournament festival by shipping the $15,000 GTD NL Hold'em Fall Poker Festival Event #1 for $5,250 on Oct. 9. Also cashing in this tournament were Joseph "MegolaMan1ac" Liberta (third - $2,250), Ted "olmuggins" Ely (fifth - $1,350) and Norman "Abnormality" Michalek (sixth - $1,100).

There are events on the schedule affordable to everyone with buy-ins ranging from $10 to $200. While all of the tournaments are held in the most popular poker variant no-limit hold'em, there is a big variety in tournament formats including full-ring, six-max, freezeout, super deep stack, rebuy, reentry and knockout.

Grab a Share of $1.2 Million in the First-Ever NJCOOP

History is about to be made in the Garden State with PokerStars NJ about to launch its first-ever NJCOOP. The inaugural online tournament series will be the biggest online festival in the state with $1.2 million in guaranteed prize pools across 43 events Oct. 15-31.

The series kicks off on Sunday with four amazing tournaments including the $250 NJCOOP Sunday Special SE, which boasts a huge $100,000 guarantee.

The highlight of the festival is, of course, the two day $500 NJCOOP NL Hold'em Main Event Oct. 29-30, featuring a humongous $200,000 guarantee. There are a variety of ways to qualify into the main event including satellites, freerolls and $2.50 Spin & Go to name a few.

Buy-ins for the online poker festival range from $15 to $1,000. There are also plenty of qualifiers for each event in which players can make their way into for pennies on the dollar running around the clock.

While most tournaments will be played in the no-limit hold'em format, there are plenty of tournaments in other poker variants as well including pot-limit Omaha, five-card Omaha, pot-limit Omaha hi-low, mixed PLO/NLHE, eight-game and triple-stud. As you might have expected, just about every different tournament format available on PokerStars NJ will be employed during the tournament festival as well.

On top of the huge prizes players can win, they also have a chance at a bigger haul by finishing in the top 15 spots on the PokerStars NJCOOP Leaderboard. The leaderboard awards $10,000 in tournament money with the Player of the Series walking away with $2,000 in free tournament cash.
