Sunday Briefing: Ole Schemion Wins the Big $215

German superstar Ole “wizowizo” Schemion found himself in the winner’s circle at PokerStars this weekend, taking down the Big $215 for $27,888.

Schemion may frequent high buy in live tournaments more than online these days, but he showed that he still has what it takes to be a force at the virtual felt by coming out on top in the Big $215, outlasting 834 opponents on his way to yet another first place.

The biggest score of the weekend went to Finland’s “EVERFR0ST” courtesy of triumphing in the Sunday Million, a result worth a cool $142,424.83. EVERFR0ST defeated the United Kingdom’s Jon “luckyfish89” Clark heads up, resigning the British grinder to the $99,946.53 runner-up prize.

Another substantial prize is now nestled in the PokerStars account of Chun Lei “SamRostan” Zhou thanks to him winning the $1,050 Sunday Grand NLHE for $56,741.20. Switzerland’s “LLinusLLove” walked away with the $38,295.41 first place prize in the pot-limit Omaha edition of the Sunday Grand.

  • TJ “1BigAceHole” Ulmer – winner of the Hot $162 for $16,240.42
  • Martins “MrJovelli” Kleins – winner of the $700 Super-Sized Sunday for $36,592.88
  • Rasmus “RasA86” Agerskov – winner of the $109 Bounty Builder for $15,385.93
  • “stfinpm” – winner of the $109 Bubble Rush for $11,258.47
  • Vladimir “shabalinvlad” Shabalin – winner of the Hot $109 for $16,120.44

Across at partypoker, Ireland’s Nelius “danceofddead” Foley emerged victorious in the $150,000 Gtd Main Event, turning $109 into $25,530.95, an impressive sum surpassed by “advancedbetting” who won the $200,000 Gtd High Roller for $39,558.75.

The biggest cash at partypoker this weekend went to “Stikeeez” who turned $2,600 into $47,125 in the $100,000 Gtd Super High Roller tournament.

This week’s $100,000 Baby Whale at 888poker saw the final three players strike a deal for a large chunk of the $114,600 prize pool. “RomaTilt” finished in third place for $16,034.85. “Ti0373” was the runner-up for $17,587.31. Mikkel “Mikel_Hansen” Hansen was crowned champion and collected $16,733.08.

Another 888poker tournament ending in a three-way chop was the $100,000 Mega Deep. “ILoveToPay” finished in first place and banked $20,083.84 with “amaze1” and “zeroineee” coming in third with scores of $18,220.85 and $20,507.31, respectively.

The final tournament for this week’s Sunday Briefing also ended with the final three players striking a deal. “hateh4tehate” won the $40,000 Turbo Mega Deep for $7,387.03 leaving “evianwater” and “ahcacao” to finish second and third, adding $6,928.11 and $7,470.36 to their bankrolls.
