UKIPT Birmingham

The PokerStars-sponsored United Kingdom & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) heads to the Genting Club Star City in Birmingham on Oct. 5 and it is your final chance to become a UKIPT champion before the popular tour becomes part of the PokerStars Festival.

A total of 12 tournaments are scheduled between Oct. 5 and Oct. 9, including the last ever UKIPT Main Event, a £770 buy in event with a possible three starting flights. In addition to Day 1a and Day 1b, there is a special Day 1c that is only open to players who have entered and bust from either of the earlier flights, giving them a second chance at becoming the last UKIPT champion in history.

Plenty of established players have won their way to the Main Event via online satellites at PokerStars including Adam “Adamyid” Owen, Ben “F3nix35” Dobson, Tom “Jabracada” Hall and Dara “SlowDoke” O’Kearney.

Not only is it players’ final chance to become a UKIPT champion, the last UKIPT Player of the Year will also be crowned.

Currently, Gianluca Speranza is the man to catch. His 311.71 points put him narrowly ahead of Linus Loeliger with 304.38. Points are awarded as per the Global Poker Index, so a deep run in the Main Event, a couple of side events or the High Roller could put everything to chance in the race to be the Player of the Year.
