2016 PokerNews Cup

Nearly nine months after Germany's Daniel Can left the King's Casino in Rozvadov with a trophy in his hands and a €17,105 top prize in his pockets, the PokerNews Cup is back at Europe's largest poker room with a week-long poker festival to remember.

While everyone's eyes are on the €200,000 GTD. Main Event that begins on Thursday, players have already started to arrive to Czech Republic to enjoy a piece of King's world-famous cash action and join the €6,000 PokerNews Cup Opening Event starting today at 20:00 local time.

"Once again, we can assure everyone that the PokerNews Cup is going to be an amazing event for those who are looking for value and want to play poker at the highest level but don't have thousands to invest on the buy-ins," PokerNews' own Giovanni Angioni explains.

"Not only this year's schedule features thirteen value-packed tournaments with buy-ins ranging from €40 to €250, but King's cash action and the huge Celebrity Cash Kings running alongside the Main Event are sure to make this a great moment for us all to celebrate the game we all love."

Four Starting Flights to Fight For a Share of €200,000

The tenth Main Event in the history of the PokerNews Cup is already expected to be one of the best tournaments of the season for low-stakes players and amateurs looking for a way to splash into professional poker and snap big cash prizes at a low cost.

Like in 2015, the Main Event comes with an affordable €250 entry fee and features a gigantic €200,000 guaranteed prize pool. The players will start with 30,000 in chips and 30-minute levels during the four day 1s on the schedule with the level times increasing to 45 minutes on Day 2 and 60 minutes on the final day.

The Main Event is not the only noteworthy tournament on the schedule. "If you are in Rozvadov and you are looking for a fun event to play, make sure you don't miss the €90 + €10 PokerNews Ticket & Cash Event starting at 20:00 on Friday where each player that makes it the money receives in addition to their cash prize a €250 Main Event ticket," Angioni continued.

Other marquee events include a €110 pot-limit Omaha tournament on Friday and the one-day €20,000 GTD. King's Local Championship starting at 19:00 on Saturday.
