PokerStars Adds a 56th Event To SCOOP Schedule
PokerStars rolled out its schedule for this year's Spring Championship of Online Poker in April, and it was the most ambitious iteration of the storied event yet, with 55 events divided into three tiers of buy-ins apiece for 155 total tournaments. Evidently, they've decided to go even bigger as a 56th event has been added to the schedule.
SCOOP-56 will be a Progressive Super-Knockout event with buy-ins of $11 (low), $109 (medium), and $1,050 (high). Those will carry guarantees of $50,000, $150,000, and $250,000, respectively, and they'll run as one-day tournaments on Monday, May 23 at 1:30 p.m. ET.
"With 12 events still being played on Monday, May 23, and interest in the three-day Main Event still high, PokerStars felt it would make sense and excite players if there was an additional one-day event for everyone to still be able to get involved in," the company said in a press release.
