Online poker tournaments are bigger than normal on Sundays at the world's second largest real-money online poker network 888poker. In addition to regular tournaments featuring larger guaranteed prize pools when compared to what takes place during the week, the online poker room showcases a few special tournaments, including the $120,000 Mega Deep and the $100,000 Sunday Challenge each weekend, plus the $150,000 Whale and the $100,000 Baby Whale on alternating Sundays.
A few players stood out from all the rest thanks to big wins and multiple final tables in major tournaments. Spain's Lucas "duchasp4rati" Blanco, who now resides in the United Kingdom, was one of those players. He first took down the $150,000 Whale for $34,766 on April 17 before one week later snagging another $14,207 with a third-place finish in the $100,000 Baby Whale.
Brazil's Fabiano "ChicoShove" Kovalski also earned his way to a great month on 888poker thanks to two final tables in major tournaments on the same day, April 3, with a victory in the $120,000 Mega Deep for $30,842 and an eighth-place finish in the $100,000 Sunday Challenge for $2,533.
Noah "elguillermo" Vaillancourt was also one of the stars of the month on 888poker with a win in the $120,000 Mega Deep for $30,263 on April 10 before one week later taking ninth place in the $150,000 Whale for $3,144.
While not notching a win, another Spaniard living in the United Kingdom deserves a mention for making two final tables in major tournaments this month on 888poker. Joel "CrackdeI29" Jordana took fifth place in the $100,000 Baby Whale for $8,246 before adding a bigger cash of $19,404 for a second-place finish in the same tournament two weeks later.
A few other notable players scored big this month on 888poker with wins in major tournaments including Austria's Jan-Eric "OverTheTop43" Schwippert winning the Sunday Challenge on April 3 for $22,237, Australia's Timothy "WallyMatera" English winning this same tournament on April 17 for $21,083, and Czech Republic's Jan "hownorez" Nakládal shipping the $100,000 Baby Whale for $26,334 on April 24.
