2015 PokerNews Cup Main Event Day 1a: Pavlo Tormozov Bags Biggest Stack
The 2015 PokerNews Cup €200,000 GTD. Main Event kicked off at the King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic on Thursday, and 173 players turned up to participate on the first Day 1 flight.
Although most of the players who took their seat in on Day 1a were either Czech or German, the international event continued to attract representatives from almost all the different European countries.
Among the participants on Day 1a were Czech poker pro Adela Pecháčková and popular TV prestenter Petr Rychly. Both players, however, were sent to the rail before the day ended.
Rychly, an actor and Czech voice of Friends and Californication, was unable to add a second cash to the one he scored in 2013 during an event at the Prague Poker Festival.
There was also no for Dutch player Firat Baltaci, who was eliminated in the final moments of Day 1a despite having played some very good poker throughout the early levels. Baltaci, who only five months ago cahsed for more than $50,000 at the Barcelona Poker Cup during the European Poker Tour, suffered for two tough bad beats that compromised his stack and his mindset at the table.
The chip lead of the event went to Ukraine’s Pavlo Tormozov, who closed with a 324,000 stack.
