Mid-States Poker Tour

After a successful inaugural event at bestbet Jacksonville — a tournament that attracted 421 entries and saw Brian Arbaugh take home the $102,806 first-place prize — the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) continues its sixth season at Running Aces Card Club in Columbus, Minnesota.

The stop, which is happening now and only requires players to be 18 years of age, will feature several qualifiers and bonus events before culminating in the $1,100 buy-in $200,000 guaranteed Main Event from Friday, Feb. 6 through Sunday, Feb. 8.

"The MSPT has a long and storied history at Running Aces," said MSPT owner and operator Bryan Mileski. "We’re looking forward to returning to our home state for yet another successful event, one that will be put on in a great venue run by an amazing staff. The MSPT Running Aces tends to attract the Midwest’s best, and we expect that to be the case all week long."

The MSPT visited Running Aces twice last season. The first actually launched Season 5 in Feb. 2014 and saw Mark Sandness top a field of 354 entrants to win $90,913. A second visit followed in September, and Ken Pates outlasted 337 other entrants in that tournament to win $87,698.

Of course the PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand to capture all the action from the Main Event.

"Running Aces has been a staple on the MSPT schedule for a few years now, and PokerNews is very happy to once again be apart of the festivities," said PokerNews Editor-in-Chief Donnie Peters. "After kicking off with a bang in the bestbet Jacksonville event, excitement is high for another great year on the tour. You can look forward to following live coverage for all of the MSPT events on PokerNews, and be sure to stop by and say hello if you're at the event. Hopefully it's your name we're writing in the records books as the winner!"
