Season 5 of the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) came to an end last month when Peixin Liu topped a field of 432 entrants to win the MSPT Canterbury Park for $106,483. His victory put an end to the tour’s most successful season to date, one that held 21 stops, attracted 7,896 total entrants, and saw the average number of players per stop jump from 298 to 373.

Bigger and better things are expected for Season 6, which kicks off later this month at a brand new stop — BestBet Jacksonville. From Jan. 15-25, the 18-and-up casino will play host to the MSPT, which will run a series of events and qualifiers the first week and then culminate with an $1,100 buy-in $200,0000 guarantee Main Event from Friday, Jan. 23 through Sunday, Jan. 25.

“The MSPT is excited to visit Florida for the first time. BestBet Jacksonville has established itself as one of the country’s premiere poker destinations, and we can’t think of a better way to kick off the new season,” said MSPT owner and operator Bryan Mileski. "Florida law requires patrons to only be 18 years old to play, so we look forward to welcoming first-time MSPT players both young and old."
