On June 20, partypoker released an update of its Android and iOS mobile apps to add new functionalities and improve the offer available on smartphones and tablets.

According to what bwin.party Head of Public Relations Warren Lush wrote in a post published on partypoker's blog, the update will allow players "to play in one of the world’s leading online poker rooms quicker and easier than ever before."

Completing a process started on June 2, when the poker room first added the ability join sit-and-go tournaments from Android devices, the update released on June 20 extended the feature to iOS-powered iPhones and iPads.

The updated version of partypoker's mobile poker apps also include several other improvements such as the ability to filter tables for stakes (high, medium, low) and format (heads-up, short-handed and full-ring), to automatically re-join active sit-and-gos if the app accidentally shuts down, and to access casino games like roulette, blackjack and slots.

Also among the most noticeable improvements, the new apps now allow seamless device transition, which means that players can start their games from a mobile device and finish them on their desktop and vice-versa.

Commenting on the release, partypoker's ambassador Kara Scott welcomed the introduction of sit-and-gos to mobile devices saying that "with this extensive new offering including sit-and-go tournaments, partypoker is making a clear statement that this is the future of online poker."

The apps can be downloaded for free from Apple's official AppStore (iOS) and from Google's Play Store (Android). If you don't have an account on partypoker yet, we advise you to have a look at our in-depth review of the poker room, and benefit of a large number of PokerNews-exclusive promotions.
