“Only in a poker tournament by HPO could an unknown like me sit down with some of the best in the world, have the time of their life, win some money, and go to Vegas," Toby Mathews, winner of HPO Tunica, told PokerNews.
Mathews defeated World Series of Poker bracelet winner Jonathan Taylor heads up, and outlasted HPO Ambassador and St. Louis Regional Main Event winner Chris Moneymaker in three-handed play.
Three satellites will run on Friday, May 23, for the Main Event, and another will take place the morning of the Main Event before the first cards are dealt.
