Don't Miss the Hollywood Poker Open Series in Columbus!
Season 2 of the Hollywood Poker Open heads to Columbus, Ohio on May 16 for an exciting new tournament series at the Hollywood Casino. The series will run through Sunday, May 25, closing with the $1,800 HPO Regional Main Event which carries a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool. As always, PokerNews will be on hand to provide live coverage of the Main Event, including hand reports, chips counts, and more.
The series begins on Friday, May 16 with a three-day, $450 no-limit hold'em event that will allow re-entries through the first eight levels on Day 1b. All players who advance on Day 1 return for Day 2 on Sunday, May 18 to play down to a champion. The winner of Event #1, as well as the Main Event, will earn a $2,500 seat to the HPO Championship Event in Las Vegas this summer.
An additional HPO Championship Event seat will be awarded to the player who earns the highest point total on the HPO Leader Board for the Columbus series. Points will be awarded in select tournaments based on finishing position.
Mixed in with the regular events are a number of satellites to the Main Event. Three satellites will run on Friday, May 23, and another will take place the morning of the Main Event before the first cards are dealt.
Of course, the flagship event will be the HPO Regional Main Event from May 25 through 26. Among the players expected to participate include Lee Childs and HPO Ambassador Chris Moneymaker, who already won an HPO Main Event in St. Louis during Season 2.
