Derrick Rosenbarger wins the partypoker WPT Montreal Main Event
Christmas came early for Derrick Rosenbarger, an Air Force jet pilot from New Mexico. On Dec. 7, Rosenbarger won the partypoker World Poker Tour (WPT) Montreal Main Event at the Playground Poker Club despite starting the 6-handed final table in second to last place.
Rosenbarger has plenty to celebrate with the win adding $500,824 to his bank account. That represents almost $380,000 more than what he would have received by finishing in fifth place. It goes to show that you need to make things happen when they matter the most.
