On Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL tweeted their announcement of a $10 million guaranteed World Poker Tour Main Event with a buy-in of $5,300. The announcement was retweeted by Matt Savage, Executive Tour Director of the WPT, although an official announcement from the tour has yet to be received.

This will mark the second massive guarantee held by Seminole Hard Rock in less than a year's time. Just over one month ago, the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open $10 Million Guarantee Championship Event concluded. Blair Hinkle took home the title and the over $1.74 million first-place prize after topping the field of 2,384 entries.

With the announcement that the event will be held in April 2014, it could directly clash with a few other big events. The European Poker Tour Sanremo festival is already scheduled for April 6-16, and the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final is slated for April 23-May 3. There is also the World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific that has been planned to take place April 4-16 next year, as displayed on banners at this summer's WSOP.

According to Savage on Twitter, the event will feature the same re-entry format as it did for the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open August event with one-hour long levels until Day 3 using the standard WPT structure. He also said that the stop would be adding mixed-game side events in response to a question from WSOP gold bracelet winner Owais Ahmed.
