PokerStars LIVE Macau Announces Schedule for 2nd Annual Asia Championship of Poker 0001

On Tuesday, PokerStars LIVE Macau released the official schedule for the 2nd Annual Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP), the flagship poker series for the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT). The series will take place in Macau from Oct. 18 through Nov. 3, 2013, with HK$27 million (US$3.5 million) in guaranteed prize money across 18 tournaments.

The ACOP includes 12 championship events, known as ACOP Title Events, and will be headlined by the HK$100,000 (US$13,000) buy-in Main Event, which has doubled its previous guaranteed prize pool. The HK$20 million (US$2.6 million) guarantee attached to this year's Main Event is the biggest in all of Asia.

The opening weekend of the ACOP will kick off with the HK$2,500 Rebuy Championship (HK$500,000 guaranteed) and the HK$11,000 Deepstack Championship (HK$1 million guaranteed). Here's a look at the full schedule of championship events:

Last year's ACOP set APPT records with a total of 2,757 players and more than HK$46.2 million (US$5.9 million) in prize money. Tournament organizers are expecting bigger things in the series' second year.

"Last year's ACOP was a great success but it was still just Year 1," said APPT President Danny McDonagh. "The awareness is so much greater this year and we expect the 2013 ACOP to break the previous APPT records."
