Also reaching the six-figure club were Yun Cui (109,500) and Bjorn Li (122,300), who held the lead for part of the last two levels of the day.

The two Day 1 flights combined to create a presentable 388-player field – a great total considering that many players have gone to Las Vegas to compete in the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Of the players who participated, approximately 170 will return for Day 2 to compete for their shares of the HKD $8,656,280 prize pool.

Some well-known players to take their seats on Day 1b included recent GuangDong Asia Millions Main Event second-place finisher Jeff Rossiter, PokerStars Team Pro Bryan Huang, and local celebrity Alex Niu. Unfortunately for those three, their days were cut short.

Returning on Friday will be a collection of notables including PokerStars Team Pro Vivian Im, Jay Tan, Lacey Jones, Didier Guerin, Emanuel Seal, Jordan Westmorland and Bawod Hyunshik Yun, all of whom bagged chips at the end of Day 1b.

Day 2 is set to kick off at 3 p.m. local time on Friday, and PokerNews will again be on the floor providing updates from the magnificent City of Dreams Macau!
