Day 11 of the 2012 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) at PokerStars spanned nearly 20 hours from start to finish, awarding nine winners. Notable players to earn victories were Paul "padjes" Berende and Marc "dean23price" Wright, but the biggest name to notch a win was Shawn "buck21" Buchanan.

About 10 hours were played on Day 1 on Event #27-H, reducing the starting field of 1,179 to 138. It took another 13 hours on Day 2 for the field of 138 to be reduced to one.

Among the Day 2 cashers to finish short of the final table were Seth "Setherson2" Davies (10th - $11,200.50), Jon "TherookieQQ9" Plens (13th - $8,842.50), João Felipe "LiMa171" Lima (15th - $8,842.50), Chris "ImDaNuts" Oliver (20th - $5,187.60), Julian "julianherold" Herold (26th - $5,187.60), Sergey "gipsy74" Rybachenko (30th - $4,598.10), James "jcamby33" Campbell (41st - $4,008.60), Marc "dean23price" Wright (58th - $3,183.30), Steve "mcnallyville" McNally (60th - $3,183.30), Paul "pvas2" Vas Nunes (61st - $3,183.30), James "mig.com" Mackey (66th - $2,947.50), Jon "FatalError" Aguiar (72nd - $2,947.50), and Brendon "brendon1717" Rubie (73rd - $2,711.70).

Here were the chip counts at the start of the final table:

It took more than an hour into the final table for the first player to fall. "1Lacky7" was the one, getting involved in a hand against "Hans-jörg029." With the blinds and antes at the 4,500/9,000/1,125 level, "Hans-jörg029" raised to 18,900 in middle position. "1Lacky7" repopped it to 42,500 from the cutoff, "Hans-jörg029" called, and a K104 flop fell. A check from "Hans-jörg029" led to a bet of 35,846 from "1Lacky7." "Hans-jörg029" min-raised to 71,692 and "1Lacky7" called to see the 6 turn. A bet of 153,000 was next from "Hans-jörg029," resulting in an all-in shove from "1Lacky7" for 365,063 with AA. A call from "Hans-jörg029" revealed a set with 1010, which held through the Q river.

"Trommelochse" fell shortly thereafter at 5,000/10,000/1,250. Action folded to "APD0290," on the button, who raised to 20,000. "Trommelochse" three-bet jammed from the small blind for 229,132. A call from "APD0290" revealed A10, slightly leading the KQ of "Trommelochse." The board ran out 97572 to end "Trommelochse's" run.

Ryan "ely_cash41" Hughes busted a few hands later, losing a chip-leading 170-big-blind pot. "Hans-jörg029" opened the action with a raise to 21,000 under the gun and Hughes called from the next seat. "Weekender74" repopped it to 43,200 from the cutoff, but "APD0290" put in a four-bet to 90,340 from the big blind. "Hans-jörg029" ducked out of the way, but Hughes five-bet jammed for 811,700. A fold from "Weekender74" led to a call from "APD0290" who held AK. Hughes led slightly with JJ but couldn't hold through the Q9410A board to finish in seventh place.

"Weekender74" also fell at that level. After a min-raise to 20,000 by "Weekender74" from the hijack, "NhFy" three-bet to 40,000 from the button. Action folded back to "Weekender74" who four-bet to 96,000, leading to a call from "NhFy." The flop came down J94 and "Weekender74" checked to "NhFy" who bet 80,000. A shove for 390,636 came next from "Weekender74." "NhFy" thought it over a bit and called with 33, ahead of the AQ of "Weekender74." The K turn and K river ended "Weekender74's" tournament in sixth place.

The remaining five played for a bit before deciding to look at numbers for a deal, but terms were not agreed upon. Play resumed and it would take about two hours for the next player to fall. It happened at 8,000/16,000/2,000 and "NhFy" was the fifth-place finisher. Action folded to "zcedrick" in the small blind who raised to 36,000. "NhFy" called to see a J42 flop which "zcedrick" bet 36,800 at. "NhFy" called, the 8 hit the turn, and "zcedrick" checked. Checking behind was "NhFy," resulting in the 10 river card. "zcedrick" bet 45,000, but was met with a raise to 176,000 by "NhFy." With the much bigger stack, "zcedrick" shoved to the put the decision back on "NhFy." The decision was a quick one for "NhFy" who called another 450,131 with J10 for top two pair, but "zcedrick" tabled 44 for a set to win the pot and chip up to 2.6 million.

"AQUA RAIDER" departed at 9,000/18,000/2,250, getting his stack of 322,396 into the middle with AK. "Hans-jörg029" tabled QQ and held through the 54395 board to secure the elimination. The final three players paused to bring up deal talks once again, and this time an agreement was struck. Not long after, "zcedrick" bid adieu in third place. At 10,000/20,000/2,500, "zcedrick" min-raised to 40,000 on the button. "Hans-jörg029" three-bet to 100,000 on the button, only to see "zcedrick" come back over the top to 235,000. Not going anywhere, "Hans-jörg029" five-bet to 420,000. Finally, "zcedrick" shoved with a slightly bigger stack and "Hans-jörg029" called all-in for 2,008,793. It was the cooler of coolers as "Hans-jörg029" tabled AA to "zcedrick's" KK. The board rolled out J7276, leaving "zcedrick" short before busting three hands later.

"Hans-jörg029" began heads-up play with 3,865,041 to "APD0290's" 2,020,959. It only took three hands before "APD0290" fell in second place. It was another cooler that got the job done, but let's start from the beginning. "APD0290" opened to 40,000 on the button, "Hans-jörg029" three-bet to 120,000 from the big blind, and "APD0290" called to see an AQ8 flop. Checks from both players brought the Q turn at which time "Hans-jörg029" bet 122,500. "APD0290" raised to 285,000, but that didn't scare "Hans-jörg029" who promptly reraised to 447,500. A call from "APD0290" landed the J river. "Hans-jörg029" fired 912,000, "APD0290" shoved for 1,659,959, and "Hans-jörg029" called with QJ for a full house. "APD0290's" flush with K7 was second best, ending the tournament.

The "High" version of the razz event brought out a small but tough field of 81 with only the top 12 finishers making the cash.

After six and a half hours, 32 remained, led by Andrey "Kroko-dill" Zaichenko, Bryn "BrynKenney" Kenney, and Dan "djk123" Kelly. Two hours later the field had shrunk to 16. By then Kelly was out and Zaichenko and Kenney were down to short stacks, with "sulbystar" having moved out in front

Over the next half-hour came four more eliminations — "to0dey" (16th), "kasparov007" (15th), Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier (14th), and Kenney (13th) — and the money bubble had been burst. The next four out all cashed for $4,455 though fell short of the final table — "dynamoM" (12th), Zaichenko (11th), Stephen "stevie444" Chidwick (10th), and "ShellyCalls" (9th).

Here's how the stacks looked with eight players remaining:

3grapenuts55,982
4sulbystar122,127
5Scott "BigRiskky" Clements15,778
6__akun333___4,418
7Shawn "buck21" Buchanan38,575
8villepn28,582

On the very first hand of the final table, the super-short stack "__akun333___" was all-in on third street against David "Mrdawwe" Sonelin, ultimately drawing 8x7x / 5xJx2xQx[/ Jx for a J-8-7-5-2. That wasn't enough against Sonelin's 2x3x / AxKxKxJx / 6x — a J-6-3-2-A — and "__akun333___" was out in eighth.

Later, "buzzard1881" got involved in a hand with Sonelin with the betting resulting in "buzzard1881" all-in on fifth and looking for one friendly card to join the first five — 7x2x / Ax3xKx. Meanwhile, Sonelin held 8x6x / 5x9x7x for a 9-8. Sonelin would pick up a king and ace to improve to an 8-7, while "buzzard1881" drew two frustrating nines to end with a 9-7 and go out in seventh.

They crossed the 10-hour mark, with "villepn" becoming short-stacked enough to be all-in on third in a hand versus "grapenuts." "villepn" ended up with a nice-looking 6x4x / 3x8x7x5x / 10x for a 7-6-5-4-3, but it wasn't enough against "grapenuts"' nicer 2x6x / Ax4xQx2x / 7x — a 7-6-4-2-A — and "villepn" was gone in sixth.

Scott "BigRiskky" Clements was the next to go in fifth after falling in a hand versus Sonelin. The pair capped the betting on third, then Clements led on fourth and fifth to put himself all-in with 7x4x / 3x2xQx against "Mrdawwe's" 3x6x / 8xQx8x. Clements had the advantage, and "Mrdawwe" picked up 9x10x to end with just a 10. But Clements drew a 2x and a 3x — pairing him twice — to go out in fifth.

About 10 minutes later, "grapenuts" was all-in against "sulbystar" on fifth street, ultimately drawing Ax2x / 8x7xQxAx / Kx (Q-8-7-2-A) versus "sulbystar's" 7x8x / 5x9x2xKx / 5x (9-8-7-5-2) to be eliminated in fourth.

After another half-hour of poker, the remaining trio had reached the tourney's 12-hour break. At that point, "sulbystar" led with 202,431, with Shawn "buck21" Buchanan second (134,951) and Sonelin third (67,618).

On the sixth hand after the break, Buchanan and Sonelin got to fifth street, at which point the pair capped the betting. Then Sonelin raised all-in on sixth with Ax2x / 6xJx10x10x against Buchanan's 7x2x / 6x9xKxQx. Seventh brought Sonelin an unimproving Qx while Buchanan picked up a 10x, meaning his 10-9-7-6-2 had beat Sonelin's J-T-6-2-A — and they were down to two.

Heads-up began with "sulbystar" slightly in front with about 2.07 million to Buchanan's 1.97 million. Buchanan soon seized the advantage, however, and over the next half-hour gradually chipped at his opponent's stack until it was down to less than a couple of big bets. Soon "sulbystar" was all-in on fourth versus Buchanan, ultimately drawing 3x9x / 5x9x10x9x / 8x (T-9-8-5-3) versus Buchanan's 6xQx / Ax3x7x8x / Kx (8-7-6-3-A), and Buchanan had won.

The "High" version of Event #30, a "Super Knockout" turbo-styled no-limit hold'em event in which half the prize pool was reserved for bounties, saw a whopping field of 661 join the fray, which meant the prize pool more than tripled the guarantee.

It took just an hour-and-a-half for that big field to shrink to just 100 players, at which point Nick "FU_15" Maimone was on top with a stack just under 100,000. Thirty minutes later just 50 were left, with Maimone still on top with more than 225,000.

Maimone maintained his spot at the top of the counts as the tourney blitzed its way toward the final table. Among those landing spots inside the top 78 and the cash were Joseph "subiime" Cheong (78th - $1,964.82), Chris "ImDaNuts" Oliver (70th - $2,032.57), George "GeorgeDanzer" Danzer (60th - $2,303.58), Rodrigo "caprioli" Caprioli (52nd - $2,439.09), Aaron "AaronBeen" Been ($2,439.09), Bryan "theczar19" Piccioli (50th - $2,439.09), Randy "nanonoko" Lew (47th - $2,710.10), Matt "ADZ124" Marafioti (40th - $3,116.61), Joep "Pappe_Ruk" van den Bijgaart (29th - $4,065.15), and Richard "nutsinho" Lyndaker (26th - $4,065.15).

Maimone lost the lead briefly to "bleu329" as they played down to the final three six-handed tables, then grabbed it back by the time they'd cracked the top 10. Soon "SilverSurfR1" claimed "Ansgar2000's" bounty (9th), then Maimone swiftly took "SilverSurfR1's" (8th). Next, "OBVAMENTS" knocked out "Andresejeczek" (7th), who like the last two eliminated earned $14,160.27 plus whatever bounties they'd collected along the way.

After less than three hours of play, the final table was set. Here's how the chips looked at that point:

SeatPlayerChips
1G1a1u1s1s571,871
2Nick "FU_15" Maimone864,117
3bleu329515,416
4Patrick "pmahoney22" Mahoney453,973
5OBVAMENTS521,847
6Gonzalez259377,776

The bilnds were 7k/14k to start the final table, meaning the average stack was a little over 47 big blinds deep with six left. The pace slowed just a bit over the next stretch, and in fact, they'd cycle through several levels and nearly a half hour of poker before the first final-table elimination took place.

By then the blinds had already jumped to 17.5k/35k, and when it folded to the button, "G1a1u1s1s" shoved for 331,954 total and got one caller in Maimone in the small blind. "G1a1u1s1s" had J9, but had run into Maimone's KK, and after the board came 1037QA, they were down to five.

Soon Patrick "pmahoney22" Mahoney open-raised all-in for more than 625,000 and "OBVAMENTS" calling with a a stack of 230,482. Mahoney had KQ and "OBVAMENTS" Q5, and after the board came 3AJ87, "OBVAMENTS" was out in fifth.

The remaining four played a little while longer, then paused the tourney and struck a deal to chop up the remaining prize money, leaving $8,000 to the side for which to play, and cards were soon back in the air.

Shortly afterwards, "Gonzalez259" nearly lost it all in an all-in preflop confrontation versus Mahoney in which the latter's AK held against "Gonzalez259's" AJ. A couple of hands after that "Gonzalez259" was all-in with K2 versus Maimone's pocket treys, and when the board came 7A81010 Maimone collected another bounty as "Gonzalez259" hit the rail.

Play continued, and with the blinds up to 25k/50k, Mahoney had pushed out in front with nearly 1.60 million with "bleu329" close behind with a little over 1.55 million and Maimone down to just under 150,000. An all-in shove from "bleu329" from the button with 33 then got a call from Maimone in the big blind holding 109, and five community cards later — 5487K — Maimone was out in third.

That gave Mahoney the edge going into heads-up play, although "bleu329" would scrap back to take a slight lead when the final hand took place. In that one, "bleu329" opened for the minimum (100k) and Mahoney called, and the flop came 9K7. Mahoney checked, "bleu329" bet 100,000, Mahoney check-raised to 265,750, "bleu329" responded with an all-in shove, and Mahoney called.

Mahoney had 97 for two pair, while "bleu329" had K5 for top pair of kings, but when the turn and river both brought tens, "bleu329" ended with the better two pair and the SCOOP title.
