A key hand for "Kipu" occurred with six players remaining. In the small blind with K♠K♥, "Kipu" was happy to see action as "rastafari898" picked up A♦Q♥. Relatively short-stacked, "rastafari898" got it in with the big ace but was unable to overcome "Kipu's" kings.
Riding that momentum, "Kipu" began heads-up play with about a 1.7:1 chip lead. Eventual runner-up "vonBaranow" got off to a rocky start heads-up but managed a bit of a comeback. However, holding A♠9♣, "vonBaranow" ran into "Kipu's" superior A♦10♦. A K♦K♥3♣4♥8♦ board was all she wrote, giving the victory and the top Sunday score to "Kipu."
