Pocket Rockets Propel Lee to a Double

After the player in the hijack limped, Bernard Lee raised to 1,300 from the button. The small blind folded, the player in the big called, and the limper came along to make it three-way action to the {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop.

Two checks saw Lee continued for 1,800 and only the player in the big blind called. The latter then check-called a bet of 3,100 on the {3-Hearts} turn and the {4-Spades} completed the board on the river.

The player in the big blind checked and then called when Lee shoved for 8,900. Lee tabled the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} and it was good as his opponent sent his hand to the muck.

Eggers Fires Second Bullet

Roger Eggers
Roger Eggers

Roger Eggers got his stack of around 15,000 all in preflop and found himself in dire straits against Danny Griffith.

Danny Griffith: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Roger Eggers: {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Eggers had a kicker problem and it didn't get resolved as the board ran out an unhelpful {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}. Eggers immediately headed to the registration desk to re-enter the tournament.

Harrington Crowns Sargent

Barbara Sargent
Barbara Sargent

Barbara Sargent opened for 1,400 from middle position and Brent Harrington responded with a three-bet to 2,800 from the button. Both blinds folded, Sargent jammed for 15,000 more, and Harrington called.

Barbara Sargent: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Brent Harrington: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Sargent's best chance of staying alive was to catch an ace, but there wasn't one on the {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop. The {q-Diamonds} turn gave her a bunch of diamond flush outs, but the {5-Clubs} river was not one of them. With that, Harrington sent Sargent to the rail.

More for Waxman

Matt Waxman raised to 1,800 under the gun and Mark Lafata called from the hijack. The rest of the players folded and it was heads-up to the {8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop.

Both players checked and the dealer burned and turned the {3-Clubs}. Waxman bet 4,800 and Lafata called.

When the {6-Spades} completed the board on the river, both players returned to checking and Waxman tabled the {10-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for top pair. It was good as Lafata sent his hand to the muck.

Greg Jennings
Greg Jennings

Greg Jennings, who is fresh off winning the RGPS Downstream Main Event, has hit the six-figure mark here in Flight B.

In a recent hand, a preflop raising war resulted in a player getting his stack of roughly 40,000 all in against Jennings.

Greg Jennings: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Opponent: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Jennings had the bigger pair and scored the knockout after the board ran out a clean {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Spades}{a-Hearts}.

A TC Black Out

Tim Black
Tim Black

Tim Black got his short stack all in preflop and was racing for his tournament life against Tony "TC" Courtney.

Tony Courtney: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Tim Black: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Black was looking to improve to stay alive, but that proved easier said than done as the board ran out {5-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} to improve Courtney to a winning full house.

Lee Trending Upward

Bernard Lee raised to 2,100 from middle position and both the players in the cutoff and big blind called.

When the flop fell {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, the big blind checked and Lee continued for 3,100. Both his opponents called and the {2-Clubs} peeled off on the turn. The player in the big led out for 4,500, Lee called, and the cutoff got out of the way.

On the {k-Diamonds} river, the big blind bet 8,000 and Lee thought for a bit before making the call with the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}, which bested his opponent's {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}.
