First Elder and Then Heinzelmann

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante

Rupert Elder raised to 250,000 and Max Heinzelmann three-bet to 640,000. Elder decided to call and we had a flop of {2-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {8-Spades} and Heinzelmann bet 675,000 but Elder raised to 1,600,000 and Heinzelmann folded.

Elder raised to 250,000 and Heinzelmann three-bet again. Elder decided to take the same line and he just called the 660,000. The flop was {a-Hearts} {q-Clubs} {8-Clubs} and Heinzelmann again fired out a c-bet and it was for 735,000. No raise from Elder this time as he folded after a quick glance at the texture of the board.

Back & Forth

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante

We've seen only small pots for a while now, and the stacks remain basically unchanged. Mostly we've seen whichever player is on the button making an opening raise (Heinzelmann likes a 240,000 min-raise, while Elder favours a raise to 250,000) and the other calling.

One hand, raised by Heinzelmann, made it to the turn after both players checked the flop. The board read {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Elder now bet out 350,000. Heinzelmann folded and that particular pot went to the Brit.

Elder picked up the next one as well, raising the button and then continuation-betting to a check from Heinzelmann on the {4-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop, eliciting a fold from the German.

Heinzelmann picked up the next three pots though, first raising from the button and getting a fold, then getting a walk in the big blind next hand. The next hand made it as far as a flop, but no further - Elder called Heinzelmann's button raise, but then check-folded to Heinzelmann's 235,000 continuation bet on the {9-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} flop.

Elder Check-Raise Bluff Fails

Max Heinzelmann raised to 240,000 and Rupert Elder called to see a flop of {Q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Hearts}, Elder check-raised Heinzelmann's 270,000 bet to 685,000 but the German made the call.

The {5-Clubs} came on the turn and both players checked to see the {4-Spades} river. Elder checked, looking as though he was giving up and Heinzelmann quickly took it down with a 700,000 bet.

Heinzelmann Continues to Take the Important Pots

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante

Rupert Elder raised to 250,000 and Heinzelmann made the call. The flop was {10-Spades} {q-Hearts} {k-Spades} and both players checked. The turn was the {q-Clubs} and Heinzelmann check-folded to a 300,000 Elder bet.

Heinzelmann bet 240,000 and Elder called. The flop was {4-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {q-Clubs} and Elder check-called a 310,000 Heinzelmann bet. The turn was the {j-Clubs} and Elder checked for the second time and Heinzelmann fired his second bullet. The amount was for 635,000 and Elder made the call. The river was the {7-Clubs} and Elder checked for the third time. Heinzelmann fired out his third bullet and it was 1,020,000. Elder gave it some thought before calling. Heinzelmann showed {q-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} and Elder mucked his hand.

First Serious Pot to Heinzelmann

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante

Rupert Elder made it 250,000 from the button and Max Heinzelmann called to see a {10-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop which they both checked. Heinzelmann bet out 260,000 on the {2-Spades} turn and Elder called, leading them to the {k-Diamonds} river. Heinzelmann bet out again, this time to the tune of 820,000. Elder called that too, but couldn't beat Heinzelmann's {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for second pair and Heinzelmann picked up a roughly 2.7 million pot. The recovery begins...
