Joe Hachem Bubbles in 6th Place

Joe Hachem, still in search of that elusive Aussie Millions title
Joe Hachem, still in search of that elusive Aussie Millions title
Stud:

Joe Hachem was all in for his last chips on fifth street in a hand against Alexander Kostritsyn.

Hachem: ({J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}) {10-Clubs}{J-Spades}{2-Spades}
Kostritsyn: ({A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}) {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{7-Spades}

Hachem jumped from his chair yelling, "One time!" apparently in annoyance at Kostritsyn improving to a better two pair. Hachem would need some help but he caught running sevens.

Hachem bubbles as we're now in the money!

Madsen Collects From Hachem in Razz

Razz:

Razz rarely stimulates the imagination, but one of the final hands of razz round was a little intriguing between Joe Hachem and Jeff Madsen.

Hachem was showing {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Madsen {3-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{8-Spades}{K-Hearts} as Madsen's {A-Hearts} river card was accidentally dealt face-up. After some discussion with floor staff, play continued with Madsen playing it face-up.

Hachem checked and Madsen bet 5,000. Hachem called but Madsen revealed {7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for an eight low, which Hachem could not better.

We're on the Bubble!

We've finally reached the money bubble in this tournament. The next player eliminated will be thoroughly disappointed as the final five are guaranteed to collect AU$20,000 for their time.

Michael Binger Eliminated in 7th Place

Michael Binger - 7th Place
Michael Binger - 7th Place
Omaha Hi/Lo:

The action folded around to Michael Binger who raised all in for his last 5,500. Chris Ferguson was the lone caller on the button.

Binger: {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}
Ferguson: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}

The board ran out {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{J-Spades} and despite picking up two pair on the turn, the river counterfeited his hand and Ferguson collects the pot. Binger leaves empty-handed as he is eliminated after a long two days of play in seventh place.

Madsen Hits the Lead

Hold'em:

Jeff Madsen is our new chip leader after he clashed with Alexander Kostritsyn.

The board read {3-Spades}{7-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{10-Diamonds} with Kostritsyn firing all the way, only to have Madsen make the call with {6-Spades}{7-Spades} to catch Kostrtisyn who missed all of his outs with {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a busted draw.

Madsen is at 143,000 with Kostritsyn down to 140,000.

Madsen Rockets in Hold'em

Hold'em:

Jeff Madsen raised preflop from the small blind and then fired bets on every street against Chris Ferguson who called him down from the big blind. The board read {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{8-Spades} and Madsen tabled {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} to take it down. Madsen is now up to 117,000 chips.

Binger Doubles

Hold'em:

A short-stacked Michael Binger has doubled up through Alexander Kostritsyn. Binger held {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} and Kostritsyn made the call with {K-Hearts}{9-Spades}. Binger was already standing and saying goodbye to everyone at the table in anticipation of his demise but it was premature as the board fell {2-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{5-Hearts}.

Binger survives and doubles to about 16,000 chips.

Tino Lechich Eliminated in 8th Place

Tino Lechich - 8th Place
Tino Lechich - 8th Place
Stud Hi/Lo:

Tino Lechich was all in fourth street and Zac Fellows had committed his last chips on fifth street with Chris Ferguson covering both of them. The cards were revealed:

Lechich: ({K-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}) {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Fellows: ({J-Spades}{7-Spades}) {3-Spades}{6-Spades}{8-Spades}
Ferguson: ({7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}) {6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{5-Spades}

Ferguson held a straight and a stranglehold on the low, as Fellows was slow to reveal that he'd made a flush. Lechich was in trouble with his pair of kings.

Ferguson {4-Hearts} and Fellows {9-Clubs} didn't improve, however Lechich picked up the {K-Spades} on sixth to suddenly spring to life with a sweat. As the river was dealt Lechich squeezed his last card looking for a pair to improve to a full house, but it wasn't to be as the {10-Clubs} left him as our eighth-place finisher with Ferguson and Fellows chopping the pot.

Play Resumes

The players are back on their saddles with four hands left to run in the round of stud hi/lo. Will we see our first elimination shortly? The pressure is going to be on Michael Binger, Tino Lechich, and Lee Nelson who are all on the short stacks.

Break

The players are now taking their first ten-minute break of the day. We are still to lose a player as we enter our fourth level of final table play.
