WSOP Announces New and Improved Online Registration Process

World Series of Poker

In addition to the handful of enhancements coming to the 2016 edition of poker's largest and most prestigious festival, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) announced the opening of online registration at the end of last week. Players are now able to register for events online via wire transfer, cashier's check, and credit card, with credit card being a new method of online payment introduced for this year.

According to a note to the press, the WSOP will be working with Genesis Gaming Solutions, Inc., the minds behind the Bravo Poker Tournament Software utilized by the WSOP and other top tournaments around the world. The new partnership will tie online registration directly into WSOP registration software, allowing players to sign up in advance, avoiding registration lines and saving time.

The online registration process will be hosted by the Bravo Poker Live website, and those looking to participate are required to do a one-time sign-up with Bravo Poker Live. One will also be required to have a valid account with Caesars Total Rewards.

If you don't have a Total Rewards Account, you can get one here.

Following the completion of the online registration process, participants are then asked to show up at the Rio Convention Center "Rotunda Area" Fast Pass Total Rewards Desk an hour before the event's start time and provide proof of identification. If using a credit card for online registration, the credit card used must be presented.

It is important to note that although credit cards are an option for online registration this year, this method of payment will not be accepted for in-person on-site registration.

Deadlines for Online Registration

For those looking to register online via credit card, this option will apply only for events with a buy-in of $1,500 or less and requires registration be completed at least 72 hours prior to first-time use.

For both wire transfer and cashier's check, online registration is required at least 14 days prior to an event's start date.

Step-By-Step Process

  1. Decide which 2016 WSOP events you would like to register online for
  2. Make sure you have a Total Rewards Account, and if not you can get one here
  3. Complete one-time sign-up with Bravo Poker Live
  4. Complete registration and payment process for event(s)
  5. Arrive at Rio Convention Center "Rotunda Area" Fast Track Total Rewards Desk one hour before event's start time
  6. Provide proof of identification and credit card if using this method
  7. Once verified, receive seat assignment(s) and receipt(s)
  8. Proceed to tournament area

Fast Track Kiosks

Players will be able to expedite the process even more by taking advantage of new WSOP Fast Track Kiosks available throughout the Rio. Those wishing to use the kiosks can do so following a one-time in-person verification process in the Rotunda Area to confirm player identity and payment method. The kiosks will then allow players to print seat cards and receipts similar to using a kiosk at an airport to print a boarding pass.

Those looking to use the Fast Track Kiosks will need their Total Rewards Card to verify identity in order to print seat cards and receipts.

Additional Fees

If planning to register online, be aware that there will be some additional fees associated with this process.

A $3 processing fee will be applied to each event transaction for using the online registration system. Credit cards will be charged an additional fee of 2.95% if using this method of payment.

For methods of wire transfer and cashier's check, participants are subject to bank-imposed fees, although the WSOP is said to not impose any additional fees for these two methods.
