Eureka Poker Tour Returns To King's Casino This Week with €1.5 Million Guaranteed
Players around the world, especially in Europe, are gearing up for the start of the sixth season of the Eureka Poker Tour at King's Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, from March 2-8, 2016.
This marks the third time the poker tour has opened its season at King's Casino and the fourth time overall that the tour has visited what we affectionately call "Rozvegas".
The poker festival features 22 action-packed events, with €1.5 million in guaranteed prize pools highlighted by the five-day Eureka Rozvadov €1,100 Main Event being held from March 4-8. The Main Event comes with a huge €500,000 guarantee.
Players will have plenty of chances to build a stack with three opening flights. The first two providing players a starting stack of 25,000 in chips and 45-minute blind levels. To add a small twist, the final opening flight will be held in a turbo format and only be available to those who entered and busted out of either one or both of the other two opening flights.
Last year's Main Event at King's Casino was the largest in the tour's history with 664 players, and this year it could be even bigger. Austria's Raphael Wimmer navigated through the field in 2015 to secure a huge €99,685 payday.
Players can qualify into the Main Event for much less than the €1,100 buy-in with satellites still running on Eureka Poker Tour's exclusive online partner, PokerStars. There are also live satellites starting at €170 at King's Casino.
In addition to the Main Event, high-stakes players are looking forward to the exciting action in the King's Casino €5,300 Super High Roller taking place March 2-3 and the €2,200 High Roller taking place on March 6-7.
Low-stakes players also will have plenty to choose from with many lower buy-in events, including €330 Rozvadov Cup on March 2-5 with a €100,000 guaranteed prize pool, the €70 King's Local Championship (March 5) with a €15,000 guaranteed prize pool, and the €60 Eureka Locals NL Hold'em Deepstack EPT Edition (March 8) with a €7,000 guarantee.
Additionally, ring games at all stakes spread across of a variety of poker formats will be running 24 hours a day.
When not playing, poker players can enjoy the beautiful countryside surrounding the casino, which is conveniently located 90 minutes from Prague and minutes away from the Czech border. Unibet pro Quentin Lecomte recently called King's Casino one of the best in Europe, stating that, "Right now, this is definitely one of the best casinos in Europe. Things are not the same in many other places on the continent, where you are treated like a king only when you play slots or roulette."
For those of you that wish to follow the action, the PokerNews Live Reporting team will be on hand to cover the Main Event and other tournaments on the schedule. During last year's PokerNews Cup, which was also held at King's Casino, the PokerNews Live Reporting team scouted out some of the things you can do in Rozvadov and you can read our top five recommendations here.
