Full Tilt International Poker Open Dublin

The International Poker Open (IPO) returns to the Regency Hotel Events Centre this week, the first time it has dropped anchor in the Irish capital since it partnered with online poker giant, Full Tilt.

There are more than 10 events scheduled across six days, with the highlight of those tournaments being the $250 IPO Dublin Main Event where players sit down with a generous helping of 30,000 chips and play to a superb structure featuring 40-minute levels.

Over 920 players have attended the five IPO stops since Full Tilt began its sponsorship, and if the 2014 IPO Dublin Main Event is being used as a benchmark, that impressive figure could more than double.

In 2014, when the IPO was sponsored by BoylePoker, the Dublin Main Event saw a staggering 1,656 players buy in and create a €331,200 prize pool. The lion’s share of that impressive sum went to Chris Pyke, who returned home €71,650 better off than when he started the tournament.

Only time will tell if the 2015 edition of the IPO Dublin Main Event can reach the same dizzy heights, but one player who is definitely playing in the Main Event is Full Tilt’s Player Ambassador Marc Kennedy.

"I'm thrilled to be taking part in the Dublin IPO. I really enjoyed the London IPO event and Dublin is certain to be bigger and better making it the highlight of the tour, so I didn't want to miss this one,"said Kennedy. "As well as the Main Event, the festival will feature games and formats such as the Midnight NLH Turbo Freezeout, PLO Double Chance, and for the first time at the IPO there’s also a Randomised Bounty No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout."

All players who play in the IPO Dublin Main Event are eligible to play in a $5,000 Online Second Chance Freeroll held at Full Tilt on Sunday, November 1. Those who qualified for the IPO Dublin Main Event online at Full Tilt are automatically entered into a Last Longer competition where the player lasting the longest wins a UKIPT Main Event ticket for their troubles.

Full Tilt recently revamped its rewards program known as the Players Club. Part of this new scheme is The Deal, an interactive game giving players the chance to win cash games tickets, tournament tickets, and even massive cash prizes if the progressive jackpot is hit. During IPO Dublin, players have the chance to play The Deal live in the Players Club Area.
