According to a note sent by Slovenian police to the national media on Tuesday afternoon, German poker pro Johannes Strassmann disappeared in Slovenia's capital city of Ljubljana on Saturday, June 21 and is reported missing.

Strassmann, who went to Slovenia to visit some friends, was last seen on Saturday evening around 10 p.m. in Gornji, a popular street in the heart of Ljubljana’s old town.

According to the people who were with him at that time, Strassmann had suddenly left the group and then quickly vanished in one of Gornji's side streets.

Talking to PokerNews, Slovenian police officer Vesna Drole confirmed the news, and assured that police is doing as much as possible to discover what happened to Strassmann.

"Yes, I can confirm that the Slovenian police is currently looking for a German citizen named Johannes Strassman," officer Drole said. "I don't know the circumstances and I do not know what happened, but I can assure you that we are looking for him as we speak."

On Tuesday afternoon, the police also issued the identikit of an 180cm tall, short-haired blonde young man wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans, whose picture confirms being Johannes Strassmann.

While agents are working to understand what happened to the German poker pro, Slovenian police officials asked the national media to involve the population in the search, and have anyone who may be able to help with the case to contact Ljubljana's police at the number +386 801200 as soon as possible.
