The poker industry is constantly breaking barriers and reaching new heights. Whether it be tournament field sizes, total prize pool money awarded, or an event's price tag, poker is always looking to go bigger, and now it's time for a world-record attempt to take things to another level.

According to the Asian Poker Tour (APT), the tour will be looking to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest continuous poker tournament. The attempt will take place at Resorts World Manila in the Philippines from Dec. 11-15, 2013 and is appropriately named the Asian Poker Tour Resorts World Manila Iron Man Poker Challenge.

The event in Manila will boast a $700 buy-in and begin on Dec. 13 at 8 p.m. local time. As listed on the event's webpage, there are several special rules, including no scheduled breaks, no chops or deals allowed, and the event will only end after playing all the way down to a winner.

The current record was set in Delaware on Aug. 25, 2012. The Delaware Park Iron Man Poker Challenge attracted 192 players and was won by Pete Konas for $27,160 after 36 hours, 34 minutes and 11 seconds of play.
