German poker pro Marvin Rettenmaier is the newest member of Team PokertyPoker.com, joining the likes of Tony G, Mike Sexton, Kara Scott and fellow German Bodo Sbrzesny on PartyPoker's roster of sponsored players.

Rettenmaier has emerged as one of Europe's top talents in recent years, accumulating nearly $1.7 million in live tournament cashes since 2009. His best results include a victory at the France Poker Series Grand Final in 2011, a runner-up finish at the 2011 PokerStars European Poker Tour Deauville Main Event, and a third-place finish at the 2011 World Poker Tour Venice Main Event.

The 25-year-old was introduced as a PartyPoker Team Pro during the World Poker Tour World Championship at Bellagio in Las Vegas over the weekend. He's still alive in the $25,000 buy-in event with an above-average stack going into Day 3.

“I am pleased to join Team PartyPoker.com,” said Rettenmaier. “It feels like a natural move for me and I am looking forward to representing them in WPT events and beyond.”

Rettenmaier was previously sponsored by Titan Poker, but both he and Sam Trickett parted ways with Titan earlier this month. That allowed PartyPoker to scoop up one of the game's hottest young free agents.

"I'm so stoked to welcome Marvin to Team PartyPoker.com," said fellow team member Kara Scott. "He's a seriously talented poker player which makes his addition no surprise at all. On top of that though, he's a friend and one of the most fun people to hang out with on the poker circuit. I'm looking forward to many more nights of karaoke, Mad Marvin style! “

“Poker needs characters and Marvin is certainly one of those," added Mike Sexton. "I think he’ll be an asset and I am delighted that he has joined the team.”
