DraftKings Fantasy Baseball Championship
Day 4 Completed
If there's a Phil Ivey of daily fantasy baseball, his name is Peter Jennings. So it wasn't a surprise to anyone that the man they call "CSURAM88" took down the biggest tournament in the history of the industry on Tuesday night.
Jennings, who happens to be a member of the DraftKings Pro Team, bested a field of 50 entries to claim the $1,000,000 top prize at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. The live final included some of the brightest minds in fantasy sports, but Jennings dominated the night behind the Boston Red Sox lineup and solid pitching from starters Alex Wood and Johnny Cueto.
Jennings was near the top of the leaderboard right from the get-go thanks to a first-inning home run from Dustin Pedroia, and he later added homers from Mike Napoli, Allen Craig and Jose Bautista to take a sizable lead into the home stretch. The celebrations began even before the final pitch of the night was thrown.
Finishing second behind Jennings was another daily fantasy superstar by the name of Jay "DirtyGirl15" Raynor. Both Jennings and Raynor secured three entries into this championship event and used the extra ammunition to their advantage. One of only two Canadians in the field and the former roommate of poker pro Mike "Timex" McDonald, Raynor collected $350,000 for his efforts.
Rounding out the top five and pocketing six-figure scores were "markgenorex," Chris "gcnmoo" Moore and Ray "rayofhope" Coburn. Here's a look at the top 10 results along with Jennings' winning lineup:

There's still a half-inning left in the final game of the night, but barring a miracle Peter "CSURAM88" Jennings has locked up the 2014 DraftKings Fantasy Baseball Championship. Jennings rode a Boston Red Sox stack to a comfortable lead late in the night and is already being congratulated by his peers as the first $1 million winner in fantasy baseball.
We'll have a full recap of the event at its conclusion along with an interview with the champion!
Just moments after our previous post we heard a loud roar from the back of the Aura Nighclub. Boston's Mike Napoli hit a home run, which increased Peter "CSURAM88" Jennings' lead even further. Jennings was one of only two players who picked Napoli and is reaping the benefits. He now owns a comfortable lead and is nearing his first $1 million DFS payday.
Following another clutch hit by Dustin Pedroia, Peter Jennings is back in front of the FBC. As of now it's a two man race between Jennings and Nevada's "markgenorex" — who didn't make the trip to Atlantis — but one home run could change things quickly here in the home stretch.
Jeff "Rotomania" Rowe was leading the DraftKings Fantasy Baseball Championship early in the evening. We talked to Rowe about being the only qualifier to select Gerrit Cole, who pitched a gem for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Sometimes it only takes one player to win a tournament on DraftKings. Tonight that player could be New York Yankees outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury, who has accounted for both Yankees runs with a pair of homers. Five sharp fantasy managers own Ellsbury today and all have shot up the leaderboard. One of them is the aforementioned Chris Moore who had one of his entries disqualified because he didn't enter it in time.
The tension is building here at the Aura nightclub as a few games are already in the books.
Like leader Peter Jennings, David "bw5126" Epstein is taking advantage of having three entries in this championship event. Epstein has a Chicago White Sox stack (several players from the same team) and is now in third place with a lot of innings left to go!
Bolstered by Dustin Pedroia's outstanding game and strong pitching performances from Alex Wood and Johnny Cueto, Peter "CSURAM88" Jennings has taken the lead.
