Brunson's Fourth Kicker Plays

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 1,500 ante
Todd Brunson (Day 1)
Todd Brunson (Day 1)

Henrik Hecklen: {X-}{X-} / {K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} / {X-}
Todd Brunson: {X-}{X-} / {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} / {X-}

Picking up the action on sixth street with a hefty pot already on the table, Brunson bet, Hecklen raised, Brunson reraised, and then Hecklen called. On seventh street, Brunson bet, and Hecklen called.

Brunson showed the {A-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a king-high heart flush. Hecklen showed the {Q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds} for a king-high diamond flush. Brunson's seven played as the fourth better kicker than Hecklen's five, and he won the pot to move to over 800,000 in chips.

"Todd, the Internet said you had over 700,000," said Phil Hellmuth after the hand as he got up to check on Brunson.

"He's got a lot more now," said Barry Greenstein.
