Another day is in the books here at the PokerStars.com European Poker Tour Grand Final. The tournament clock shows 129 players remaining, but we may have lost a few more players during the final five hands. Unfortunately, all spectators and media were asked to clear the room with ten minutes left to go in the level. PokerStars has informed us that official chip counts will be made available in approximately 2-3 hours. As always, we'll post them here as soon as we receive them.

By our estimations, Oyvind Riisem finished the day atop the leaderboard with approximately 425,000 in chips. Other notables who finished well are pros Johnny Lodden, Joe Hachem, Marcel Luske, and Luca Pagano.

Day 3 is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. local time tomorrow afternoon, at which time we'll be back to bring you more up-to-the minute updates, chip counts, and photos direct from the tournament floor. Until then, good night and good luck!

Borge Dypvik Surges Late

Moments ago, young Norwegian Borge Dypvik took down another healthy pot and climbed closer to the 300,000 mark. Borge traded pre-flop raises with his heads-up opponent, eventually getting it all in with A-K; his opponent (the all-in player) entered the showdown with a pocket pair of sevens.

One by one, the dealer exposed the community cards, and at the turn, the board read: 8-4-10-5. Just before the river was dealt, Dypvik quietly called out, "Ace!" and sure enough, the {A-Clubs} was the last card to fall.

With the win, Dypvik stacked up just over 280,000 in chips and looks in great shape to end the evening near the top of the leaderboard.

The players on the table of Joe Hachem, Anna Wroblewski, Ed de Haas, and Surinder Sunar have become increasingly tried of the mass of media, players, and fans who are continually congregating closely around their table. Now that there are fewer live tournament tables, the aisles of the tournament area are becoming flooded with people. Particularly suffering is Sunar at the head of the table in seat 7. The dealer is frantically waving her arms and telling people to stand back, but with limited success. We can only imagine the problem will become worse as the tournament progresses...

Though he had an outstanding start to the day, Shaun Deeb unfortunately couldn't get a thing going once the sun went down. After making an opening raise to 3,400, Neil "Bad Beat" Channing moved in on him for an additional 25,000 and Deeb made the call, cringing when he saw that his 7-7 was up against 8-8. No miracle for Deeb on the board and he made his exit.

Chip leader at the start of Day 2, Frenchman Cyril Bensoussan has just dropped below average for the first time today after running his pocket tens into an opponent's aces. A board of {3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds} brought no help to Cyril, who was left with 85,000 in chips after the hand; the current average is 96,412.
