Poker Hall of Famers Collide

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

In one of the first hands after the money bubble burst, Poker Hall of Famers Daniel Negreanu and John Hennigan collided.

It happened when action folded to Hennigan on the button and he jammed for 65,000. Negreanu reshoved from the small blind to isolate and the hands were turned up.

John Hennigan: {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Daniel Negreanu: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Negreanu has famously bemoaned his luck with pocket jacks, and his run bad with the fishhooks continued as the board ran out {5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades} to give Hennigan new life with a straight.

Two Chips and a Chair Earn Halverson $25K

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Mitchell Halverson
Mitchell Halverson

For most of Day 3, Mitchell Halverson has been on the short stack. In fact, he was so short on the money bubble that he had just 2,000 left and the big blind was two hands away. Fortunately for Halverson, Carlos Alvarado fell in 135th place to burst the bubble.

In the first hand in the money, Halverson called off under the gun and Santiago Soriano raised to 16,000 on the button. Ilyas Muradi called from the big blind and there was a side pot on the line.

Muradi check-called a bet of 12,000 on the {2-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{j-Spades} flop and then action went check-check on the {2-Diamonds} turn. When the {10-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, Muradi checked and Soriano bet 35,000. Muradi called and all three hands were tabled.

Ilyas Muradi: {j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Mitchell Halverson: {q-Spades}{4-Spades}
Santiago Soriano: {6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}

Muradi caught Soriano bluffing and claimed both the main and side pots while sending Halverson home with a min-cash of $25,091.

Zaki Doubles on Bubble

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

After the other simultaneous all in hand resulted in an elimination, there was one more all in to run.

Justin Zaki was at risk, after he moved his remaining 75,000 all in. He was holding the {9-Hearts}{9-Spades} against the {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} of David Goodman who had called the all in from the small blind.

The board ran out {3-Clubs}{a-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and Zaki secured a double up and a place in the money.

Carlos Alverado

Alex Foxen raised from late position and then called the 37,000 three-bet jam Carlos Alvarado made from the small blind.

Alex Foxen: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Carlos Alvarado: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Alvarado Woke up with kings at the wrong time and couldn't find a third cowboy on the {7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades} runout, making him the Wynn Millions bubble boy.

Aces Felt Gross For Second Bubble Elimination

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Sheldon Gross moved all in from the big blind for 92,000 over the under the gun raise from Bruno Furth, who re-shoved and everyone else folded.

Gross was at risk and in the worst position imaginable as he had the {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} against the {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} of Furth.

The flop actually gave some hope to the drowning as it came {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} to open up a roadway possibility for the ace-jack.

But it was not to be a miracle rescue as the turn was the {2-Diamonds} and the river the {5-Diamonds} to end the run of Gross and bring the field just one elimination away from the money.

The Best Live Vegas Tournaments to Play Now Through July 13

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

While the traditional World Series of Poker (WSOP) isn’t taking place until the Fall, there’s still plenty of poker action in Las Vegas this summer. Arguably the biggest and most anticipated is this very tournament, but if you’re looking to make a trip to Sin City this summer, we’ve come up with a suggested agenda of tournaments to play from June 25-July 13.

“This was a fun schedule to plan and involved multiple properties collaborating with one goal in mind - to create a 3-4 week window that was jam-packed with events,” said Wynn Director of Poker Operations Ryan Beauregard. “We knew that if we fit the pieces together correctly, it would create a seamless schedule with a variety of price points and allow players to maximize their tournament schedule while in Las Vegas.”

Who knew you could fit so many great events into a two-week period!

Franklin Doubles With Cowboys

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Kevin Eyster raised preflop from the cutoff. Ryan Franklin moved all in for 155,000 from the big blind, Eyster called the all in.

The players waited in suspense as the other hands finished before the hands were finally turned over.

Franklin was at risk but had the big advantage with the {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} vs the {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} of Eyster.

The board ran out relatively drama free as it came {a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Franking survived with a big double.

Linde Tries to Take Out Chavero

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Ignacio Moron Chavero moved all in for 52,000 from the lojack and action folded to Dylan Linde in the big blind. He opted to call and the duo waited for action to complete at all other tables before the hands were turned up.

Dylan Linde: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Ignacio Moron Chavero: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Chavero was ahead and increased his lead when the {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{a-Spades} flop delivered him trips. However, Linde did pick up a gutshot Broadway straight draw to a king. Fortunately for Chavero, neither the {5-Diamonds} turn nor {9-Hearts} river was a king and he doubled on the bubble.

Sylvia Shrinks Bubble

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Miguel Capriles moved his 52,000 stack all in from under the gun.

It folded around to Jesse Sylvia in the small blind who re-shoved which got the big blind out of the way.

After the hands at all other tables were completed, the cards were turned over.

Miguel Capriles: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Jesse Sylvia: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

The flop was safe for Capriles as it came down the {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. But the turn was not so safe as the {a-Clubs} spiked to give Sylvia the better pair.

The river finished the deal as the {3-Spades} peeled off as the bubble was shrunk as now just two players need to fall before the money is made.
