De Mario Doubles Up with Two Pair

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Daniel Matissek kicked off the action with a raise but soon found himself facing an all-in from Massimo de Mario. Matissek decided to make the call, and the hand went to showdown.

Massimo de Mario revealed KQ, while Daniel Matissek showed A10.

Needing some help from the board, de Mario got exactly what he wished for when the flop came down 5K9. Not only did he pair his kings, but the turn brought the Q, giving him two pair.

Now it was Matissek’s turn to hope for a miracle, but when the 7 hit the river, his chances faded. De Mario celebrated his double-up, having secured a strong hand.
