Martinsek Takes a Massive Pot With Kings
Level 2
: Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
A massive pot had already developed as Jan Martinsek and Georgios Vrakas went heads-up to the turn on a board of 7♥9♣Q♥6♣.
According to tablemate Paul Runcan, Martinsek had opened to 600 in early position before Panagiotis Mavritsakis three-bet to 4,500 in the cutoff. Vrakas four-bet to 17,000 in the big blind, Martinsek five-bet to 37,000, and only Vrakas called. Both players then checked the flop.
Vrakas led out for 21,600 on the turn and Martinsek called. The 10♥ river was checked down and Martinsek turned over K♣K♦. Vrakas tossed ace-king into the muck as Martinsek took the pot.
