Both players checked on fifth as they made pairs on sixth. Mortensen bet with his sevens and Hinkelmannn called with fours showing.
Heading to seventh, Mortensen said he wanted to check his cards. The dealer heard him say the word check and announced it to the table. Hinkelmann checked back as Mortensen pleaded that he hadn't acted yet. The floor was called over and it was ruled that since Mortensen had said the word he was forced to check.
Mortensen then turned over J♥7♥4♦ for a full house. "First time playing," Mortensen said as he took the pot.
