Mateos Continues to Climb
Level 3
: Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Three ways on a A♦7♠K♥ flop, Ramzi Zuraikat checked from the small blind and Erik Borkvik checked from middle position to Adrian Mateos, who bet 3,500 from the cutoff. Both Zuraikat and Borkvik called.
It was checked to Mateos again on the 9♠ turn and he sized up for a bet of 15,000. Again, both of his opponents called.
Nobody put chips in after the 9♦ filled the river and Zuraikat turned over J♥10♦. Borkvik mucked and Mateos tabled A♥Q♠ for aces-up, which was good for the large pot.
"If I didn't have a double-gutter I wouldn't have called the turn!" Zuraikat exclaimed as Mateos collected the chips.
