Karoui Goes for Thin Value

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Claudio Di Giacomo opened to 125,000 in the cutoff and was called by Julien Sitbon on the button and Moncef Karoui in the big blind. The flop fell {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and the action checked to Sitbon who bet 100,000. Karoui called and Di Giacomo check-raised to 325,000. Sitbon folded but Karoui still called.

The turn was the {q-Clubs} and both players checked to the {5-Clubs} on the river. Karoui led out with a bet of 365,000 and Di Giacomo looked him up. Karoui showed {a-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} for two pair and Di Giacomo could not beat it.
