Nines Are Good for Burns

Level 1 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Jean-Noel Thorel opened to 4,000 under the gun and Adrian Mateos called from one seat over along with Abdelhakim Zoufri in the cutoff. Kahle Burns three-bet to 30,000 and Thorel called. Mateos let it go but Zoufri stuck around with a call as well.

The flop fell {8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Burns bet 45,000. Thorel and Zoufri called. The turn brought the {j-Clubs} that was checked around to the {2-Hearts} river. Burns threw in a bet of 80,000. Thorel folded but Zoufri raised to 255,000. Burns took a few seconds of reflection, then called. Zoufri tabled {6-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Burns turned over {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} to take down the pot with nines and deuces.
